Solway, Border and Eden Local Action Group (LAG) aims to influence and shape rural development in northern Cumbria. We do this by using money allocated through the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

The LAG works on the principles of the LEADER method – a ‘bottom up’ approach to decision making – which has been used successfully in Cumbria for many years. The programme is able to give funding to farmers, foresters, rural businesses and community and voluntary groups for projects which will improve the sustainability of rural life in the area.

Please have a look around the web site to find out more about who we are, what we do, the types of projects we can, and have supported and how you can go about applying for a grant.
